Our client in the life insurance, Bona Life requires an analytical, dynamic, and experienced individual who will play a pivotal role in driving sustainable growth and operational efficiency of the company as the senior accountant, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The role requires a sound individual, who is responsible for financial data integrity and for executing all processes related to monthly

accounting processes, including the preparation of account reconciliations and monthly close journal entries, and ensuring all transactions are recorded in the general ledger. Provides financial accounting and administrative services to all departments in support of the company’s strategic objectives.

POSITION PREREQUISITES

Qualification: Bachelor of Accounting/Commerce coupled with a professional qualification in ACCA/ CIMA/or Equivalent. Must be registered Chartered Accountant with BICA.

Experience: Minimum of five (5) years post qualification experience in a in accounting and financial management, of which at least 3 years should have been served at financial supervisory level.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provision of Legal advice;

  • Developing and implementing the financial management strategy, accounting policy, systems, and procedures.
  • Coordinating and advising on the budget planning process and monitoring the departmental expenditure against budget.
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, cash flow, in accordance with internal standards.
  • Advising the CFO and Executive Management on optimum investment options that will generate income.
  • Reconciling of bank charges and bank interest balances against ACCPAC. submission of the updated Bank Charges Schedule to CFO.
  • Processing of standard journal entries.
  • Checking of Trial Balance and General Ledger accounts for misallocation expenses and variance analysis.
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Monthly preparation and submission of BURS returns (VAT & WHT)
  • Prepare and maintain tax Schedules.
  • Facilitates year-end and audit preparations

 

Contract Duration: 36 – 60 months
