Main Purpose of the Job
As an IT Business Analyst, you will bridge the gap between our business stakeholders and IT teams, translating business requirements into technological
solutions that drive our strategic objectives. This role is critical in ensuring that our IT initiatives align with our business goals and deliver value to our
customers.

POSITION PREREQUISITES
Qualification:
• Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent qualification with demonstrable experience.
Experience:
• Minimum of five (5) years post qualification experience in IT Business Analysis, Functional Analysis, Systems Analysis, or Business Solution Architecture preferably in insurance industry.
• Experience in the insurance industry, particularly with knowledge of policies, processes, procedures, and claims, would be a significant advantage.
• Proficiency in project management methodologies such as Scrum and Agile.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Analysis & Requirements
Management
• Gather, document, and manage business and technical requirements for IT initiatives, ensuring they align with Bona Life’s strategic priorities and vision.
• Conduct elicitation and specification sessions with subject matter experts and end users to understand business objectives and specifics on processes, guidelines, and products.
• Create detailed business process models, use cases, and other documentation to represent business needs.
• Analyze operational procedures, identify problems, and propose system solutions that enhance efficiency and productivity.
Solution Design & Implementation
• Translate business requirements into solution/IT requirements and ensure their implementation at the highest quality.
• Provide input regarding solution alternatives and engage in brainstorming sessions across teams.
• Support the development of test plans, participate in testing activities, and validate those solutions meet business requirements.
• Apply agreed design and work/quality principles throughout the project lifecycle.
Stakeholder Management & Communication
• Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and the IT development team, ensuring clear communication and understanding of requirements.
• Collaborate with multiple teams within the organization, including senior management, to analyze business requirements, processes, and information systems.
• Present findings, recommendations, and project updates to stakeholders at all levels
of the organization.
• Facilitate the right design sessions with project implementation teams and ensure they understand the requirements.
Insurance Domain Expertise
• Analyze insurance products, policies, processes, and claims procedures to identify areas for improvement and technological enhancement.
• Understand regulatory and reporting requirements specific to the insurance industry in Botswana.
• Identify strategic and cross-functional issues that impact our insurance operations.
• Contribute to the development of innovative solutions that address specific challenges within the insurance industry.
IT Service Coordination & Vendor Management
• Coordinate IT support, training, and onboarding for new technology users, ensuring a seamless transition and optimal user experience.
• Ensure efficient and effective access to ICT services for all user groups, proactively identifying and addressing service gaps.
• Organize and oversee troubleshooting and repairs for ICT services and equipment, minimizing downtime and disruption.
• Establish and manage productive relationships with technology vendors, strategic partners, and service providers to ensure the highest standards of service
delivery.
• Oversee ICT security and service delivery in collaboration with external partners, maintaining robust security protocols and compliance.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IT budgets for the organization or specific departments, ensuring cost-effective use of
resources.
• Track and maintain ICT inventory across the organization, ensuring accurate records and
timely asset management.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive emergency and disaster recovery plans for ICT services, equipment, and data, ensuring business continuity and resilience.
• Lead the implementation of IT initiatives and projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timely delivery.
Technical Skills
• Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data and identify patterns and trends.
• Proficiency in business process modeling, data analysis, and requirements documentation tools.
• Understanding of system architecture and programming fundamentals.
• Experience with database and system design relevant to insurance applications.
• Working knowledge of IT service management, including support coordination, user training, and troubleshooting.
• Experience in ICT security management, vendor relationship management, and service delivery oversight.
• Familiarity with IT budgeting, asset management, and inventory tracking systems.
• Knowledge of disaster recovery planning and business continuity best practices.
